Where there is a Kingdom, there is a King

We live in a country (U.S.A.) where our whole foundation for the governmental establishment was based on the fact that the original founders rebelled against a King and formed a new government that would no longer have a King to rule the country but by someone who is appointed by the people to be placed in a position temporarily. With this being said, it might be difficult for us to understand the concept of living in a kingdom ruled by one person forever. Not only may we not have a warped view of living in a “kingdom” or having one King rule over us is because our view of history. Historically and biblically speaking there have been good kings, bad kings, and outright evil kings. Needless to say even among the kings that we might consider “good kings” there has yet to be a perfect king.
Praise be to God, there is a king that is perfect! We have a much greater hope than any rulers of this earth has ever promised to establish. This king shall reign forever and ever!

Who is this King of glory?

Living out the Kingdom of God

There are many examples of how one can live out "The Kingdom of God".
Being that today happens to be Mother's day, I would like to share a great example of this and dedicate this post to my lovely wife, Shelly. You see"Living out the Kingdom of God" sometimes requires that you do things that..

1) Do not get recognition

2) Does not show immediate results

3) Are difficult and or very mundane to do

4) May seem very strange to other people.

I would like to state that my wife is an excellent example of one who is willing to live her life and constantly question her own actions inspite of these 4 points.

In living out your convictions it is amazing how many people may give their reasons why they do not do "such and such". They may even give implications that you are being self righteous even though you are not saying they should do the same. Well I can tell you that my wife is truly looking at the cross with her convictions and not merely living a life on a smoother, broader road that is much easier to follow. (I will tell you that for her to allow someone like me to lead her and our family out of obedience to the Lord, is not always an easy road)

Thank you Love for being a wonderful and Godly wife and mother to our children!

Why "For His Kingdom"

Hello and welcome to my first blog.

I wanted to have a biblical title for my blog and with that being said there are many directions one could take. A couple of particular verses that kept coming to mind was Matthew 6:19 and Matthew 6:33

vs 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

vs 33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

There are many things, reasons or people that some might live for. Their motivations and aspirations may not always be so obvious but they are there and they eventually come out in their actions. Some people hide them and some people make sure everybody knows what they are. Whether you are one who likes to “fly under the radar” or one “who shouts it from the roof top” what are you living for? Now I am not just speaking to those who are not Christians, but to the Christian. So Christian, what are you living for? You may say, “Yea, Yea, I know I am living for the kingdom of God” but honestly do our actions reflect that? I know mine don't always. We may not even realize that in reality when we truly search our hearts, we will find that we are not living for the kingdom of God. We must be like David the psalmist who says:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”

Psalm 139:23,29
